As the Vice Chair of the New York State Black Legislative Taskforce (NYSBLT), it was a privilege to host the first “The Road to Reparations” event at the historic Medgar Evers College. With support from President Patricia Ramsey and Dr. John Flateau, Executive Director of the Dubois Bunche Center at MEC, the panel discussions featured Legislators, Historians, and community experts, fostering a deep understanding of the significance of reparations.

(AFCBI) has been promoting healthy aging in Bedford Stuyvesant, Crown Heights and now Central Brooklyn by offering fun, innovative programs and activities designed to keep older adults moving.As a supporter since 2014, I was please to sponsor this year's Active Aging Week in collaboration with the International Council on Aging, NYAM (New York Academy of Medicine), and the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership (MABP).

Our first Afro Youth HealthCon in BedStuy Brooklyn
Youth activism is surging, especially in healthcare. Teaming up with Dr. Torian Easterling of One Brooklyn Health, we had the privilege to support the Young Doctors of DC (YDDC), a mentoring initiative guiding high school boys towards health careers. These inspiring young men, while in their summer intensive, even conducted free health clinics in New York. Furthermore, the recent Afro Youth Health Con, organized in collaboration with The Bro Experience, Bridge Street Development Corporation, and One Brooklyn Health, exemplified this youth-led revolution.
